A New Girl Rodkey!

After some long laboring, Ramona Elaine Rodkey joined us in the outside world at 8:09am this morning, Wed. 8/11/10 at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago.  She came in at 8 lbs-6 oz, 19 inches long, and totally healthy.  I have known Lisa can deal with a lot (she's married to me), but she's now officially the toughest person I know.  Labor began Monday evening and became very intense through the night into early Tuesday morning.  And as you saw above, over a day passed before show time.  Special thanks to our doula Mary, who made the intensity not nearly as bad as it could have been.

Ramona is sleeping at the moment, having just fed and cried.  It seems those are the only three things she does so far (kidding...she can dance...kidding again).

She's the wonderful child we had hoped for!  For those of you didn't know, we found out she was a she when she came out.  So she's the wonderful daughter we had hoped for!

Thanks to everyone who has sent us good wishes (by email, phone calls, text messages, telepathy).

Take care everyone,

Evin
